HYROX Goes Global: Over 100 Events Planned for 2025/26 Season
The sport of fitness racing explodes with new locations and a new World Championship host city.
HYROX is showing no signs of slowing down. As the 2025/26 season kicks off, the organization has announced a massive expansion, with over 100 events scheduled worldwide. This growth reflects the skyrocketing popularity of fitness racing across the globe.
Massive Growth
The new season will see nearly 50 new shows added to the calendar, bringing the total to over 100. This expansion is designed to accommodate the estimated 1.2 million athletes expected to compete this year. From Manchester to Melbourne, and Houston to Hong Kong, HYROX is becoming truly global.
2026 World Championships: Hello, Stockholm!
In a move that excites European fans, the 2026 HYROX World Championships will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, from June 18-21. The event will take place at the Strawberry Arena (formerly Friends Arena), marking a return to Europe for the season finale.
Qualification Changes
With more participants comes a need for stricter qualification standards. For the 2025/26 season, World Championship qualification for individuals will be primarily limited to the Pro Division. This change ensures that the World Championship race remains the pinnacle of elite competition.
Exceptions remain for the 60+ age divisions, and specific "World Qualification" slots will be available at major Open Championships.
Elite Series Update
The elite season will now feature four "Majors":
- Phoenix
- Melbourne
- Warsaw
- Hamburg
The top three finishers at each Major will secure their ticket to Stockholm. In addition, Regional Championships in D.C., London, and Brisbane will offer one qualifying spot each to the winners.
With increased prize money and more opportunities to race, the 2025/26 season promises to be the most competitive and exciting yet.
