- From Cardiff Central Station: The stadium is a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from the station, or a very brief taxi ride.

City Guide: Cardiff +
Expected weather in April: 8-14°C (46-57°F), 70-80% humidity
Cardiff, the vibrant capital of Wales, offers a dynamic mix of history, culture, and modern attractions, making it an excellent destination for visiting HYROX athletes. The city is easily navigable, with the Principality Stadium centrally located, making accommodation in the immediate vicinity highly convenient. Areas like the Cardiff Bay waterfront or the city center offer a range of hotels, from budget-friendly to luxury options, putting you within easy reach of the stadium and local amenities.
When it comes to refueling, Cardiff boasts a diverse culinary scene. For a taste of traditional Welsh fare, look for restaurants offering lamb dishes or Welsh cakes. The city center is packed with options, from casual pubs serving hearty meals to upscale restaurants. Cardiff Bay also offers a picturesque setting for dining with waterfront views. Don't miss the chance to explore the local markets for fresh produce and local delicacies. Getting around Cardiff is straightforward. The city center is very walkable, and public transport, including buses, is readily available. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also common.
As the currency in Great Britain is the British Pound (£), it's advisable to have some cash on hand, though card payments are widely accepted. The primary language is English. Tipping is customary in restaurants and for services, typically around 10-15% for good service. Cardiff is generally a safe city, but like any urban area, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Enjoy exploring the city's castle, the National Museum Cardiff, and the lively atmosphere before or after you tackle the HYROX challenge.

What your training plan covers
A HYROX race demands more than just running or lifting. Our training plans balance three types of work so you arrive race-ready for every lap and every station.
Pure Running
Running makes up more than 50% of a HYROX race. We build your aerobic base and pacing strategy so you can hold a strong pace across all 8 km of running.
Functional Station Training
Targeted strength and conditioning for the 8 HYROX stations. Sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls, and SkiErg.
Compromised Running
The true separator in HYROX. We program running intervals on fatigued legs to simulate the demands of running immediately after completing a station.
"I was skeptical about another fitness app, but TrainRox is different. It's built specifically for HYROX, not adapted from generic CrossFit templates."
